Update: due to lack of foresight Dell have made this one a complete strip down job it took approximately 90 Minutes in total to strip the machine replace the battery ( CR2032 ) and rebuild the laptop to a working state, When it really could have needed the cover for the memory on the base being 2 cm bigger.

Finishing laptop installation at Long Itchington in Warwickshire
We are with a customer on the Stockton Road at Long Itchington near Southam in Warwickshire, We are here because the customer has attempted to run the recovery disk on a HP Pavilion DV9700 laptop computer, Unfortunately the disk supplied does not contain the correct drivers for the laptop. We get around this by temporarily plugging in a wireless USB adaptor and connecting to the customers internet to download the correct drivers from the HP website. It needed drivers for the audio, Chipset, Modem, Touchpad, TV Tuner, Onboard video card, Onboard wired network card and the Wireless LAN to complete this repair.
