Access Point setup / Wireless Bridge Installations

We are now able to offer an installation service for bridged or single Access point setup.

Bridging access points is very useful for larger buildings that require full coverage of a wireless network or buildings with metal objects embeded in the walls as a way of moving the radio around the problem this requires a minimum of 2 Wireless access points with a bridge capacity.

Single access Points are mainly used to add wireless capability to an existing wired network system.

The access points are not very big typically about A5 in size and approximately 2 cm tall although you still need to allow room for the aerial at the back most can be used wall mounted as well as free standing.

Laser Cutting Machine Repair in Coventry

This morning we are back in Coventry at Matrix Lasers repairing a laser cutting machine by replacing a part sent from the manufactures, this required a drawing being made of the current connections on the faulty board and swapping the board over. While here we also did some other computer and network maintenance on the office computer systems.

Plasma Cutter Computer Repair in Coventry

This morning we are in Coventry at Matrix Lasers repairing a computer that is attached to a plasma cutter.

It required a new 2.5″ hardrive fitting and the software reinstalling for the machine.

We also helped to fault find on a Laser cutter for which a replacement part was ordered from the manufacturers in Slovakia.

New Computer Installation at Whitnash near Royal Leamington Spa

We are now with a customer on Golf Lane in Whitnash near Royal Leamington Spa, We are here to set up the customers new computer including transferring data setting up internet, email,Scanner, Printer and install a SATA DVDRW drive.

Update: 280410 We come back here a few days later to solve an issue with the customers Corel Videostudio Express 2010, it kept reporting “Insufficent Memory”, This issue was solved by upgrading the audio and video drivers to the latest available direct from the manufacturer.

Dead PC in Kenilworth

For our last job of the day we are again at a customers in Kenilworth to repair a Desktop computer which has no power (Dead) it required an ATX power supply unit which we swapped out with the faulty one after confirming this to be the case.

Computer Beeping and no Screen Output at Honiley

Good afternoon, We are now with a customer at Honiley, We are here to repair a computer that the customer has reported giving beeps on start up but no screen output, We repaired the computer by cleaning the memory processor and video card connectors, After getting the computer working again the customer has us check the PC is clean and running as well as it can.

Internet not working at Harbury in Warwickshire

Good morning we are with a customer on Farm Street at Harbury in Warwickshire, We are here because the customer has reported a problem connecting to the internet.

Update: We solved this and had the customers broadband and computer running smoothly and fully up to date in less than an hour.

Google not working in Lighthorne

We are with a customer on Church Lane in Lighthorne, We are here because the customer reported a problem getting Google to load up on one of their computers, upon investigation we find the computer has a browser hijack which we disable and then run a malware, Spy ware and virus scan, This revealed 800 different problems including a fake antivirus, after all had been removed we edited the hosts file and updated Internet Explorer from version 6 to Version 8.

Installing a new laptop computer and recovering data at Harbury in Warwickshire

Good morning we are with a customer on Mill Street at Harbury in Warwickshire, We are here to setup the customers new laptop computer and to attempt to recover data from their broken computer.

 

Update: We setup the new laptop computer including installing software setting up security such a antivirus and firewall, installed the customers printer and scanner, and managed to recover the data from the broken computer including documents, Pictures, Music, Emails, Favourites, Address book and transferred them on to the new laptop computer

0x800c0133 Email Error at Coventry

Good morning, We are with Matrix Lasers in Coventry to solve an issue on their emails, The symptoms are an error 0x800c0133, This turned out to be a corrupt inbox caused by the PST file exceeding 2GB , We reduced the size of the PST by archiving old emails and then Created a new working PST and transferred the customer current Emails.

Replacing Wireless ADSL Modem Router at Henley in Arden

Good Morning, We are with a customer on the High street in Henley in Arden, We are here to Install a Netgear wireless ADSL modem router and connect to all the computers and wireless devices at the customers premises.

Update: There was an issue with receiving wireless signal in the kitchen downstairs, We worked out that is was to do with lead in the roof just above the kitchen and with this knowledge we repositioned the router and managed to get a usable internet connection.

Dead laptop computer at Harbury in Warwickshire

Good afternoon we are with a customer on Mill Street at Harbury in Warwickshire, We are here to inspect a faulty laptop computer, The issue here is that the laptop computer is intermittently shutting down, After some investigation it is confirmed to be a power supply fault on the mother board and considering the age of the computer would be uneconomical to repair.

The Customer has decided to order a new Toshiba laptop computer and have us rescue the data when it arrives.

Repairing a power socket on a Dell Inspiron laptop at Bishops Itchington in Warwickshire

Next today we are with a customer on Chapel Street at Bishops Itchington in Warwickshire, The customer has reported that the power socket on his Dell Laptop is loose and is not charging up correctly ( It will only charge the battery when the connector is held ), To repair this computer we first need to strip the laptop and removed the main board and then inspect the power connector luckily the connect is not broken and we are able to clean up the mother board, Resoldered the connector and strengthen its support, Then we tested and Reassembled the Dell Laptop.

This one was a relatively quick repair and took us approximately 1.5 hours to complete other computer makes have been known to take up to 2.5 hours.

Solving Outlook Crashing Issue in Kenilworth

Good morning, We are with a customer on Rouncil Lane in Kenilworth, We are here to solve an issue where by outlook 2007 is crashing, After investigating the event log we found a number of event id error numbers 1000,5000,1002,2000. These suggested an issue with the MSO.DLL or corrupt pst, tested in safe mode and it seemed to be working fine so unlikley to be a PST file fault, Disabled all addins no change, in checking the event log further we found that some windows updates had been applied in the last 7 days, So we removed and reinstalled Service Pack 2 and this repaired the fault.

Blue Screen of Death in Warwick

For the last job today we are in Warwick to Examine a computer that is blue screening, After investigation we find that there is a Trojan horse virus on the computer, and after removal every thing is working fine again.

Dead Sony Vaio all in One Computer in Coventry

Good afternoon, We are with a customer just off of the Fletchemstead Highway in Coventry, We are here because the customer has reported that their Sony Vaio VGC-LN1M Computer has died, upon confirming that the power supply was dead we checked the Sony website to find that there was a product recall and although out of warranty was able to get a product replacement free of charge.

Update: only took 2 Days for the Replacement power supply to arrive.

Apple iPad and Wireless Printer Installation in Southam

Good Morning, We are with a customer by Roman Way at Southam in Warwickshire, We are here to help the customer set up an Apple iPad and Installing an Epson wireless multifunction network printer, The printer works fully on the computer , but Apple have not supplied printer drivers on their equipment and the Epson supplied program only allows the printing of pictures.

Computer with power but no screen at Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire

Good morning we are with a customer at Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire, We are here to solve an issue with the customers computer, The computer has power lights and fans but no screen output, On this one we repaired the computer by removing the video card, processor and memory cleaning the connectors and reassembling, This gave us a working computer, then we edited the registry and removed unneeded programs this helped keep the computer running well.

Wireless Access Point Installation and other Network Issues in Warwick

We are now with a customer on the Blacklow Road in Warwick, We are here to Support a customer with a Wireless Connectivity issue, The problem is that the cable modem and the Router are in a study room upstairs but the customer would like to be able to wirelessly use the internet in the lounge downstairs and connect a computer via cable in an upstairs room, To solve this we connect the Cable modem and Router to the PC upstairs as normal, The house already has fitted a network cable with a socket next to the router upstairs and another socket in the hall next to the lounge downstairs as well as a cable and socket to feed the bed room , We connect a short network RJ45 fly lead between the socket and the router upstairs, Downstairs we attach a Switch which allows us to share between the Bedroom upstairs and a Netgear Access Point to allow us to wirelessly connect in the lounge.

Wireless Broadband Trouble at Alderminster

Good afternoon, We are with a customer on the Shipston Road at Alderminster, We are here because the customer has reported a problem with their computer connecting to the wireless network. After much testing we reset the wireless channel on the router to fix this fault.

Computer not Powering up in Barford

Good afternoon, We are now with a customer on Verdon Place in Barford, We are here because the customers computer has not been powering up, We tested with a new power supply unit which was the same, So we opened up the machine and removed, Cleaned and reseated all the cards in this computer and managed to get it working, The computer then gave us a page fault so we removed  and recreated the Pagefile and this solved the issue, it has been recommended to the customer to make sure all important data is backed up.
