Virus and malware removal on a slow running computer at Clifton on Dunsmore near Rugby in Warwickshire

Good morning today we are with a customer on Church Street at Clifton on Dunsmore near Rugby in Warwickshire.
We are here to repair a computer that the customer has reported they had a virus on the Sony Vaio laptop computer running Windows 7 which they attempted to remove but since then has been running Slow and producing a blue screen with the error message Kernel inpage error.

To repair this computer we ran a Malwarebytes scan which revealed some Trojan Virus problems and the possibility that the main cause is a virus hidden in the system files this is known as a root kit virus, to fix this we had to turn off the system restore service in the System Protection tab ran the antivirus root kit removal tools which found and removed the root kit virus, we then turned back on the system protection, created a new restore point and updated the antivirus definition.

This machine is now clean of viruses and working at its expected speed.

Trojan virus removal at Kineton between Warwick and Banbury

Good afternoon we are with a customer in Kineton Between Warwick and Banbury, The customer has reported a problem on one of their computers in which each time their antivirus removes a Trojan virus it keeps reappearing on their computer after it has been shut down or rebooted.Trojan Virus Removal at Kineton in Warwickshire

After editing the registry, deleting the temporary files and clearing the cache we ran a Malwarebytes Scan which found and removed the files which were causing the Trojan virus to reappear.

Computer running slow at Temple Herdewyke between Warwick Southam and Banbury in Warwickshire

Good morning we are with a customer near Falklands Place at Temple Herdewyke between Kineton and Southam in Warwickshire, we are here to repair a computer that the customer reports as running slow.

We find after examination that the antivirus has been disabled by a rootkit virus , malware and other Trojan viruses.

To resolve this we edited the registry and ran a Malwarebytes scan this removed the problems from the computer and gave us a position from which we could remove and reinstall the antivirus program.

Removing a back door and rootkit zero access (malware and a virus) from a computer at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire

We are with a customer on The Fairways at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. The customer has reported a browser hijack and other malware and other computer virus problems.

All virus removal tools are disabled by this rootkit and we had to load in safe mode then run the removal tools, it seem McAfee are not currently recognising the root kit Zero Access and we removed by installing the free version of Avast antivirus.

Problems installing wireless at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire

We are now with a customer on Warwick New Road at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, we are here to help support the customer who has had a virus issue and can now not install a wireless adaptor.

 

Update: The virus had effected the exe file association so we edited the registry, installed the wireless adaptor, upgraded the antivirus and installed Open Office.

Email setup and virus removal at Kineton between Warwick and Banbury in Warwickshire

Good morning we are with Complete Environmental Services at the Plantagenet Trading Estate on the Warwick Road in Kineton between Warwick and Banbury in Warwickshire, we are here to reset all the customers email systems on all their computers and devices, remove some spyware, malware and a virus from one of there computer systems.

 

Update: We installed the email on their computer systems, Apple iPhones and Apple iPad, the Toshiba laptop computer needed TCP/IP and winsocks resetting, and a desktop computer needed 2 antivirus programs removing, this was causing the computer to run slower.

Netbook computer running slow at Warwick in Warwickshire

We are with Paul Swanson Guitar Tuition at Greville Road on the Emscote in Warwick, we are here because the customer has reported that their MSI Notebook computer is running very slowly.
Update after removing 10 entries from the registry, we removed several toolbars and unneeded programs, found and removed a Trojan Vundo virus and other malware , updated the antivirus to AVG 2012 and flash to the latest version.

Computer security problem at Marton in Warwickshire

Good morning, We are with a customer on the High Street at Marton in Warwickshire, we have been called out to look at a Packard Bell iMedia 2326 computer that is misbehaving, the Customer has reported that this Microsoft Windows 7 installed computer is working fine in safe mode, but fails in normal mode by giving a security centre error on start up, Control Alt Delete is having no effect and the machine is locking up with out warning.

Update: This after checking the registry and start up files, we looked for malware and checked the Heat sink and Fan on the Processor we found nothing untoward on the computer, we checked the Event Log and found the error “Parity error on Device Raid Port 0”, this is a problem with the hard drive we have attempted to do a recovery on the drive and it reached 13 % before the computer locked up, this lock up is being caused by a failing hard drive.

The customer has decided to get a new computer, as this one is about 4 years old now and we will recover the data at that point.

Documents and pictures gone missing at Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire

We are now with a customer on Shottery Road at Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire. we are here because after a Trojan virus got on to the customers Dell Inspiron laptop computer, they performed a system restore to return the system to normal but in doing so their documents music and pictures have disappeared , so we are here to attempt a recovery of the missing data.

Update all the documents recovered , updated the Antivirus to AVG 2012 and ran a malware scan which found a number of issues including a Trojan downloader virus.

Wireless printer not working at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire

We are now with a customer on Greatheed Road at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, we are here because the customer has reported that their HP printer is not printing , so we need to check what the issue is and if able to get working the customer has never been able to get it Installed as a wireless printer.

Update: Whilst here we tested the HP Deskjet F4580 Printer and found that its wireless is faulty, the BT Infinity is working perfectly, the wireless on the Dell 1545 Laptop was functioning but not at full speed only downloading at 20 megabits per second, whilst cabled and on my wireless test phone it produced above 35 megabits on download. we also updated the customers antivirus to AVG 2012 which found an uninstalled virus in the downloads folder called Trojan Horse Cryptic.BSC, luckily it seems it was downloaded but not running. (several faults occurring here )

More than one antivirus on a computer at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire

Next today we are on Northumberland Road at Leamington Spa in Warwickshire we are here because the customers computer is running slow.

The issue here is that Lavasoft have released a program called Ad-Adware Pro Security and if your using Ad-Aware the malware remover they will offer you this product as a trial, the thing to remember is that you most probably already have an antivirus program installed on your computer so the options are to uninstall your current antivirus if your thinking of taking or not installing the pro version. If you do accidentally install two antiviruses on one computer it will slow the machine down substantially.

Virus removal and computer maintenance near Kineton

This morning we are at Combrook Near Compton Verney between Wellesbourne and Kineton in Warwickshire to remove a root kit virus called “Smart Fortress 2012” this is going to be a scam to take money for a so called antivirus that claims you have thousands of virus’s or registry issues – standard scare tactic should be removable by editing the registry and running a Malwarebytes Scan.

Update : This malware was more trouble to remove than the previous version we had to run system restore and choose a date earlier than when the virus arrived, followed by a check on the registry and a full Malwarebytes scan.

Further Update : it turns out this arrived via an email claiming to be a Federal Express missed delivery and the customer had opened an attachment

Sky sending out spam letters

Out at Whitnash today and it would appear that Sky are actually sending out letters warning about spam to there customers, But unfortunately they are basing the information on the reported ip address which changes if the user has unplugged the power to the router, as it happens on this computer the customer has unplugged the router on a regular basis.

We checked the customers machine and did find and remove rootkit virus , this is a virus that attaches it’s self to a main system file and can be pretty hard to find, also we have to change the password on the customers hotmail account it would seem the password had been stolen some how.

Virus update and other computer maintenance in Leamington Spa

This Morning we are at Leamington performing a check up on a couple of computers one desktop and one laptop. The desktop is pretty good just needed an update to the antivirus program and the HP printer scanner software loading to correct a scanner issue. The laptop has been very lucky i guess not used to much as it had no antivirus installed this was rectified and the machine given a malware clean up.

Computer Clean up in Kenilworth

First job Today is at Kenilworth Cleaning up a Hewlett Packard PC removing data and games and Setting up an email account. on this one as there was no data to keep we went straight to the emergency recovery partition and wiped the machine it was running very slow before the wipe after running like new and just needed the correct drivers for the added wireless adapter loading and a new email address for the new user.

Dead Computer in Warwick Gates

Good Morning, Today we are starting on a Desktop PC at Warwickgates. This PC was dead with no power so first of all we tried a new Power Supply Unit which resulted in no change so at this point we changed tactic and removed the video card and memory boards gave them a clean and retested still the same no power, next was to reseat the processor this fixed the machine and it was able to run. (if it had not worked it could have been a faulty memory stick processor or even the mother board and because of the age would probably have been uneconomic to repair).

Although the machine was now working this was not the end as it seemed some one had been playing on less reputable sites and had filled the machine with malware so much so that the machine ran like an old 286( the PC was running extremely slow), so we cleaned up the machine and got it running much better.

Computer running slow at Wellesbourne in Warwickshire

This morning we are at Wellesbourne in Warwickshire repairing a desktop computer that is running slow one issue that may occur here is that if the fan on the processor is pulling the air towards the heat-sink there will be a large deposit on it which will increase the heat and then the processor will shut down sections of the processor in case of failure. This one has a bit of a carpet on the processors heat sink but the main issue has been caused by some malware which we removed by editing the registry and running a Malwarebytes scan

Fake Antivirus Scam in Warwick

Now we are in Warwick to remove a fake antivirus from a Laptop computer called My Security Shield, It is believed the customer may have click a link on an email and the only thing this software does is to try to take money from the customer for its use. We edited the registry and removed this Fake Antivirus before scanning with Malwarebytes to make sure all clean then updated the computers antivirus and firewall security.

Good Morning Today we have been at a customers in Warwick removing a root kit and Trojan Viruses from a Sony Laptop Computer.

This one created a fake SVC host file Called VzCdbSVC which we had to disable before we could remove. and checked all clean with a malwarebytes scan.

Computer Clean up in Warwick

Good Morning today we are starting with a computer repair for a customer in Warwick.

The problem on this computer is that it is running slow so we will check the registry run a virus scan and run a Malwarebytes scan to make sure the machine is clean.

It is also worth checking the fan on the processor is not clogged up with dust hair and carpet as this will raise the processor temperature which on the better processors higher temperature equals slow the processor down to compensate.

Google not working in Lighthorne

We are with a customer on Church Lane in Lighthorne, We are here because the customer reported a problem getting Google to load up on one of their computers, upon investigation we find the computer has a browser hijack which we disable and then run a malware, Spy ware and virus scan, This revealed 800 different problems including a fake antivirus, after all had been removed we edited the hosts file and updated Internet Explorer from version 6 to Version 8.

For the last job today we are in Warwick to Examine a computer that is blue screening, After investigation we find that there is a Trojan horse virus on the computer, and after removal every thing is working fine again.

A Computer freezing at Stratford upon Avon

We are with a Customer on St Marys Road in Stratford upon Avon, The customer has reported that the computer system here is Locking up, We edited the Registry Removed some Trojan Virus and Malware, Updated Drivers, updated Internet Explorer 7 to Version 8, The main issue here was a fake antivirus called PC Doc Pro V5 which had not installed properly and was causing the system to freeze.
